Open Chapters is our commitment to access. We reserve sponsored class seats for refugees and immigrants who are building a new life — because language shouldn't be the thing that holds you back.
Every life is already in motion — full of stories, relationships, and meaning. We don't believe you need to become someone new to speak English. We believe language should meet you where you are, and help you express the life you're already living. And because opportunity should never depend on access, we are committed to opening doors for those too often left outside them.
The Open Chapters Mission
What is Open Chapters?

Open Chapters is a sponsored seat program woven into the fabric of Novelish Studios. Access to language education should be available to all, regardless of socioeconomic conditions.
Selected participants receive fully sponsored access to private 1:1 English coaching sessions with no obligation, no timeline pressure, and no difference in experience from any other student.
You bring the commitment. We'll handle the rest.
Every Open Chapters student receives the same 1:1 coaching, the same personalized approach, and the same care as any other student at Novelish Studios.
Sessions focus on practical, everyday English — the conversations that help you navigate work, healthcare, errands, and community with confidence.
Because seats are limited, we ask for genuine engagement. Open Chapters is for learners who are ready to show up and do the work.
The Process
Simple, straightforward, and on your timeline.
Fill out a short form telling us a little about yourself, where you are in your English journey, and what you most want to be able to do with the language.
If a seat is available and we think it's a good fit, we'll contact you directly within one week to schedule a brief intro conversation — no interview, just a hello.
Your sessions are scheduled around your life. We'll build a simple, practical learning plan together and start where you are — no judgment, no rush.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as seats become available. We do our best to respond to every application within one week. If we don't have an open seat right now, we'll keep your application and reach out when one opens up.

the work you're
already doing.
Many organizations are already doing incredible work with refugee and immigrant communities. We want to come alongside them — not replace them.
Our monthly community workshops are designed to supplement the English education that individuals are already receiving through resettlement agencies, nonprofits, and other organizations. Each session is conversational, themed around everyday life, and built to reinforce real-world language skills in a warm, low-pressure setting.
